G. Efsun Tekneci received her BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Istanbul University and subsequently worked in the energy sector as a quality control, R&D, and design engineer, where she was involved in process optimization, materials development, and quality management. Between 2015 and 2018, she worked as a project engineer at the Solar Energy Institute of Ege University on a project funded by the Ministry of Development of the Turkish Government, aimed at establishing production and characterization infrastructure for next-generation photovoltaic technologies. After performing density functional theory calculations on the layer-dependent electronic structure of perovskite materials in the Photonics Department at Izmir Institute of Technology, she began her MSc studies in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the same university in 2018. Her master's research focused on the experimental analysis of inkjet-printed multimetal oxide photoelectrodes for solar water-splitting applications and she earned her MSc degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Izmir Institute of Technology in 2020. She began her PhD at the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences, Jagiellonian University in Kraków in 2024 where she won a competition for a PhD student position in the research project entitled "Photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic coatings with a gradient composition".
