This week (22 to 26 June), we had the pleasure of organising the 13th European Conference on Solar Chemistry and Photocatalysis: Energy and Environmental Applications (SPEA13) in Kraków. Over four days, SPEA13 brought together around 350 participants from 38 countries, providing a forum for presenting and discussing the latest advances in environmental photocatalysis and photochemistry through plenary and keynote lectures, oral presentations, poster talks and poster sessions.
The conference covered a broad range of topics, from water and air treatment and disinfection, novel materials and processes for solar photocatalysis, and environmental photochemistry to hydrogen production, CO2 utilisation, functionalised surfaces, mechanistic studies, modelling, commercial applications and standardisation. Most importantly, SPEA13 was a great opportunity to bring together researchers from around the world, exchange ideas, discuss new results and challenges, and strengthen existing collaborations while establishing new ones.
